What is the name of the condition where celery fibers collect in the stomach?
What is the name of the condition in which undigested celery fibers are not passed through the stomach and collect to form celery wire balls? I swear I’ve heard of it and haven’t been able to find any references describing the condition.
Gastroparesis is when the stomach is slow to empty, so that isn’t what is being referred to here.
The ball in the stomach would be a bezoar. Bezoars can be made up of hair or other non-food items. I’ve never heard of celery causing this, but I guess if you eat enough of it, it could happen.
